Yeah this game is looking to be too much of a console port for my tastes and I'm done with settling for shitty console ports. First tip off it's a console port: the SMART movement system. I'm sure they'll polish it to not feel so much like a console port, but that's exactly what it will be in the end. I'll wait a while after release to see the community response and to see how much it dwindles after the first few weeks. One thing is for certain though, if they don't have a downloadable demo available then it's a no buy for me.
I had my doubts about Wolf and MW2, but I've been doing alot of lurking over that Brink SD forums. The developers are quite active (like they were for qw). Im actually pretty optimistic about this game. The demos we saw were being played with an xbox controller running on a pc and the presenter was a nub. ( he walks around alot) Maybe that what is making you nervous.
I'm fairly confident I will be shooting you in the face come fall Lukey and you will be enjoying it.

I picked up mirrors edge for $5 on steam during the black friday deals. So I'm playing that when I'm too baked to frag. I also wasted money on FEAR2 when it dropped. What a piece of shit that was.
